## Gerät öffnen
Remove the 4 screws and place a guitar pick or small plastic spudger anywhere in the top seam, I stared with a small gap near the triggers, most clips pop off after you slip the pick between the shell and give it a small twist. There is one clip near the sd card that takes a bit more effort to pop and once you do that you can gently pull apart the back cover, it has a tabbed design, I tried to slide down to separate it but the clips only seem to open by continuing to open the shell and takes a bit of force. There's nothing connected to the back shell so no cables to worry about. As for the pcb there are 3-4 screws for the buttons and a ribbon cable and that seems to be it.
Edit: I forgot about the lighting strip ribbon cable and the speaker but they seem pretty straight forward to remove.
## Issue
And I am in the same situation as well.
Received it on Monday 24.01. and it froze on Tuesday evening 25.01. Did a lot of testings, finally with the same results mentioned by Robert. I posted my situation here on IGG and on Taki´s Discord channel. Unfortunately, no suggestions helped.
It seems to be bricked.
I am waiting for an response by Ayn. :)
### Summary AYN Odin Pro is not reacting anymore
- 2022-01-24:
- Odin Pro received
- Aether XS 2 installed
- some issues to get the PS2 ROMs detected. Download again, transfer them directly from MacOS to Odin.
- No issues while gaming
- 2022-01-25:
- no issues until late evening
- scroll through settings of Aether XS 2, dimm brightness with Odin Menu -> display froze -> whole device went off
- no display reaction, no power LED reaction, no fan noise => nothing
- tried a lot of button combinations, long press for 10, 15, 60 seconds
- tried different power cables and bricks
- it seemed dead
- message on Indiegogo
- 2022-01-26:
- tried Micro HDMI connection
- again tests with buttons, cables, power bricks, ...
- zero sign of life from the device
- E-Mail to AYN
- put it back to the packaging
- 2022-01-27:
- some tryouts with connecting it to keyboard and mouse (via USB Splitter/switch, USB Hub Dongle and directly to keyboard)
- now the Power LED is blinking red in some situations OR the keyboard background color is blinking while I hold the power button
- so I got some signs of life - there are at least some electrical impulses
- wrote my experiences to AYN
- 2022-01-28:
- this morning I did some tryouts
- have some more or less reproducable behaviours:
- no Power LED blink when completely unplugged while long pressing power button
- Power LED blinks after 15-20 seconds of long pressing power button while connected via original cable with powerbrick
- Power LED blinks after 15-20 seconds of long pressing power button while connected via original cable with MacBook Air 30W Charger
- no Power LED blink when connected via USB Spillter/Switch to mouse and keyboard but background color of the keyboard blinks as long as I hold the power button on Odin
- sometimes (but this behaviour is not deterministic) the power LED blinks one time red when I connect it to the power brick
- Mail to AYN

Hello Ayn Team,
first, thank you for this beautiful device. It feels really good in the hands and is well crafted and designed. It makes a lot of fun to have it the hands.
I am Baker 2xxx (xxx yyy) and got mine on Monday.
Sadly, mine is not reacting anymore sind yesterday evening.
My first goal was to run some PS2 games. So I installed Aether XS2 to play some games. Monday and Tuesday I played some hours - all fine and runing well in your Performance mode.
Yesterday evening I was going through the settings of Aether XS2 just to see what kind of settings are there (but not changing any).
Then I wanted to dimm a little bit the display brightness via your Odin Menu swiping from the right side.
While scrolling with the finger over the Brightness Bar, the display froze for some seconds and then the whole device seems to turn off.
Now it remains in that state - off.
I tried:
- long press some buttons
- try out some button combinations
- connecting it to the power supply via your cable, other cables and different power bricks
- connecting it via Micro HDMI to a display
Nothing works, it is just dead. No Power LED blinking, no other LEDs blinking, no Display reaction, no fan noise - just off.
Do you have any suggestions?
Is it possibly to hard reset or factory reset the device?
Is there a software (maybe from you) to look into it?
I know you have CNY.
Hope you have an idea. Please help.
Kind regards
Tobi

Hello Ayn Team,
thank you for your Indiegogo Update.
Your transparent and continous messages every week are highly welcome and are the base for trust and brings a great feeling for your journey in creating this product with all its milestones. :)
Earlier this morning I sent to the "wrong" email addres "
[email protected]" mentioned on your website. So I forward you here the original mail.
Below this mail is the original message with my details about the failure.
I hope there is a solution that I can fix with your help.
I have Linux, MacOS and Windows available so if there is a possibility with software to bring it back to life, you can give me technical instructions. :)
Kind Regards and have a nice day
Tobi

Hello AYN Team,
the device is still "dead" and won´t boot etc. But I got a little life sign from it.
For me I cannot understand why there is no sign of booting, no blinking LED, no sound, no display message. If there is no hardware defect, then there must something happen when I press the power button.
Then I thought about Linux and the boot procedure that maybe it is not able to start and is in a loop or something. A device is missing or file is wrong. I got such messages under Linux here and there in the past.
Then I connected Odin via an USB Splitter (4x Input and 2 Output for PC and another device) with a mouse and keyboard (A: Odin <---> USB Splitter <---> Keyboard). The background color of the keyboard went on and as long as I press the power button the background color of the keyboard started to blink (on, off, on, off). It stopped blinking, when I stopped pressing the power button. Nothing on the Odin happend, only on the keyboard. So pressing the power button does something, but not starting the device. There is at least an electrical impulse. So it is not completeley dead - so there is hope. :)
Then I unplugged and plugged it in again to retest this behaviour - it remains and was reproducable. OK, fine.
Then I thought what happens when I directly connect the keyboard with the Odin (B: Odin <---> Keyboard), but then it does nothing and the background color remained off.
Then I thought what happens with a USB Hub dongle (2 USB A, 1 USB-C for charging, HDMI, etc). I connected the Odin with the keyboard via the USB Hub (C: Odin <--> USB Hub Dongle <---> Keyboard), but again nothing happend.
So I added the power supply to the dongle additionally. Then the Oden Power LED started to blink for the first time since Tuesday evening - it blinked Red for about 20 Seconds. Then it went off and nothing happens now since then. Again the Odin seems dead.
Now also reconnecting Odin with my first try (A: Odin <---> USB Splitter <---> Keyboard) with the keyboard didn´t bring the blinking keyboard as before. :(
So now I tried everything I could imagine. I hope this input will help you to find a solution.
I got a life sign and this gives me some hope to bring it back to life.
I would really appreciate some short hints to factory reset the device or some other technical instructions to come into the system and maybe boot the device.
As you have CNY and some of the AYN Team are in vacation, you maybe don´t have the full technical expertise to find a proper solution here now.
Then I would also really really appreciate a short message from you, that you received my issue and when you will come back to me. :)
Then I know my issue is recorded and will be processed when possible.
Thank you in advance!
Kind Regards
Tobi
#### E-Mail 2022-01-28 07:41
Hello again AYN Team,
now I have some additional information. The night is over and before I went to bed, I tried out another USB-C connection. The last status of previous mail was, that it now remains off - no keyboard blinking and no red Power LED blinking.
Before bed, I connected it via USB-C to my monitor and the power LED started and kept blinking for about 5 minutes. OK, I thought...now I do nothing, let it there blinking (maybe it charges as it blinks red?!?). But about 5 Minutes later it stopped blinking... I left it there connected in the hope it charges till now and maybe starts again properly.^^
No, it did not start. I still left it connect it to the monitor and long pressed the power button (at least 15-20 seconds) and the Power LED blinks one time and maybe 2 seconds later antother time and then again a longer pause but it blinks again. This was one single liong press for about 1 minute.
Then I did a retest and it was reproducable. Every time I long pressed the power button, after 15-20 seconds the LED started to blink 2 times and then again after some seconds later.
Then I plugged it to the power brick with the USB-C cable for charging and did the same - with the same result.
Then I unplugged Odin from everything and did the same - with the same result.
Then I connected it again with the mouse and keyboard (A: Odin <---> USB Splitter <---> Keyboard) where it yesterday brought the keyboard to blink, but not the power LED.
Now the power LED remains off, and the Keyboard starts to blink again after 15-20 seconds of long pressing the power button. So nearly the same behaviour as yesterday.
Then again I unplugged Odin from everything and did the same - now it does not react, no Power LED blinking as some minutes before.
So finally the behaviour is not 100% deterministic and reproducable.
Currently reproducable behaviour:
So I have a lot more signs of life than the last days, where I had zero reaction to any button combination, power cable or power brink.
Hope this helps as.
Again, please respond at least shortly, that you received and will investigate and maybe when. :)
Thank you in advance!
Kind Regards
Tobi
